Hi Omar,

Go to

It will give step by step instructions as to make sure JAWS uses the sound card you want.

Subject: [ddots-l] question regarding using 2 soundcards

Hello:

I am reading up on the recording to audio section in
the cake talking 4 tutorials, and it states:

"In order to record and playback audio, you should use
separate audio cards for the voice synthesis of your
screen reader, and for the processing of your audio.
You can achieve this by having 2 soundcards in your
computer, or having an audio processing card plus an
external synthesizer for speech synthesis."

I am using an M-Audio Delta 44 Soundcard, and had
originally disabled the internal soundcard that came
installed on my computer. With the statement above,
however, does this mean that I should reenable my
original soundcard? If so, how do I assign JAWS to
work through that card, and keep my audio recordings
going through the delta 44? Am I understand all this
correctly?

Thanks for any help.

Omar Binno

We have come from God, and inevitably the myths woven by us, though they contain error, will also reflect a splintered fragment of the true light, the eternal truth that is with God. Indeed only by myth-making, only by becoming a "sub-creator" and inventing stories, can Man aspire to the state of perfection that he knew before the Fall. Our myths may be misguided, but they steer however shakily towards the true harbor, while materialistic "progress" leads only to a yawning abyss and the Iron Crown of the power of evil. - J. R. R. Tolkien - Author of The Lord Of The Rings
