Got it! There are 2 columns of 3 jacks like a Braille cell. I had it in the
left column center position and switched it to the right hand column center.
Then I discovered that I must have unplugged my QWERTY keyboard. Anyway, a
combination of both things got it working. Thanks for the help.

Hey gang,
I have JAWS running through a real tech audio card on an ADK rack mount
computer. This thing has 6 different 1/8 input jacks that I run to a 1640I
Mackie mixer in to the tape insert. My problem.. Any time I disconnect the
1/8 plug for any reason; at start up, a screen pops up asking what I am
plugging in to the sound card such as a left front speaker, a right front
speaker, a sub-woofer etc. The problem is that I can't hear anything as JAWS
will not speak without telling the sound card what I have just plugged in.
Anyone else have this issue? Is there a hot key to default to something that
will allow me to hear JAWS? I am just trying to avoid having to have sighted
assistance to set this feature so I can get going.
Many thanks,
Grant
Thanks,
Grant

Hi Grant you should be plugging the speaker into the centre Jack and not the
left or the back or the subwoofer do that before you turn on the computer and
try turning it on and see what happens This is a feature that's part of windows
and that's why you're getting that message it's normal you just have to put the
wiring to the right Jack Like I said do it while the computer is off and then
turn on the system and see what happens from there Let us know how it works
