Sean that is a very useful tip indeed. What advantage, if any, is there to checking that show MIDI activity" check box under (options, global, show MIDI activity"? I found that sometimes my system would hang when trying to reload Sonar, after having exited sonar, and not having rebooted the PC before doing so again. well, here's what I found! I looked in the Windows Task Manager and found that there was still a Sonar process running even after having exited Sonar. If I terminated this executable from the process services tab, I could reload Sonar again successfully with out having to reboot. Then, I realized that there was the MIDI activity icon in the system tray when this executable was still running . So I thought, "Hmm, I wonder if I unchecked the "show MIDI activity" check box under the (options, global, show MIDI activity" check box, would this eliminate the hanging service in the Windows running processes. Guess what! It did! So if any of you all out there find that you can't reload Sonar sometimes after exiting, just unchecked that option and presto... all Gone! Sean A.
