Yeah, agree with Phil, Zoom have got a great product here, will be purchasing
one myself in the next few Weeks.

There are some great little products out there now, the Olympus DM550
dictaphone, records in stereo at high quality and it has speach.
around £180. great for recording rehearsal sessions.

Well, using a Zoom H4N recorder for this. You can fit the Zoom to a tripod
and it ships with a mic stand adapter. You can use the scroll wheel or, rewind
and fast forward buttons to quickly move through tracks and it uses SD cards
or, SDHC memory cards. Just bought 4 16 GB SDHC cards for it so I can store a
lot of tracks on those. For example, our current set list is 1.2GB of data
that's at 16 bit 44.1. Mind you, will probably master all of the tracks at 24
bit 44.1 as that will sound a bit better. you can also get a wired remote for
the recorder which, I think I shall probably do. I love it! The only thing I
am going to do though, is to add a couple of seconds of silence on to the end
of tracks as that will give me more time to access the pause button. This
sounds way better than using a minidisk, and if I go for 24 bit 44.1, it will
sound better than CD.
