Hé! Salut Jay! ça va?
According to what I could have read, Stacy would want a new interface with
which she would use SONAR, better than the 2006 quad core machine. As for
flanger in the Dooby Brothers' "Listen to The Music", it lasts eight bars, I
believe, as a bridge (logically, it is not the end). In your opinion, it
represents a sonic trip or another worldly. But how could it sound to you?

Stacy,
Still using Sonar and CakeTalking on a 2006 quad core machine. Dude, would
love to find out how to obtain a new recording rig like you're talking about!
BTW, my all-time favorite Dooby Brothers song is Another Park Another Sunday!
I listen to it every couple of weeks.
Isn't music amazing! Just the sound of certain songs can unlock some pretty
meaningful memories with emotions attached.
Oh yeah, I love that part in Listen To The Music at the end when the flanger
kicks in! The first time I heard it, I didn't know what was happening, it just
sounded other worldly to me, sort of a sonic trip!
Living love, loving life,
Jay Pilkington

Subject: [ddots-l] Hello from MS
Hi, all. About 10 years ago I was on this list every day, mainly learning from
all of you experts in the blind music field. I seem to recall that I and
others at work were spending too much time on the Internet and a big document
came out along with site blocking software that ended a lot of Internet
cruising and/or research while at work. And then later on, my 2006 DAW bit the
dust. Well, I am glad to report that I am getting a brand new DAW with Sonar
and Caketalking once again. I can't wait until it arrives, and I will report
to the list my ability to recall what I used to know. Yes, I know that the
softwares are virtually gone, but they can be obtained and still work well.
You just have to know the right people. I will post more about this at a later
date.
I'm writing this post to see if any of you have some of your recordings out
there that you have recorded with Sonar. Back when I use to record, I never
had anything to compare my music with, except commercial CD's that were
magically compressed to be so loud at 0 db. I could never get my stuff to be
that loud without dulling things. Anyway, do you guys know of any links that
will lead to some recordings with or without soft synths. Or has the music
ended.
I want to get back into this list, but I also don't know how many people are
regularly on here. In the old days, there were tons. Is there just a few now?
Okay, yes, I'm talking too much. Okay, so I'm going now to listen to the
Doobie Brothers! Smile
