Thanks Phil!

If someone in the UK can do the job i am absolutly interested. I am going to
save the information to later. I could not last year get my VS100 to work in
64 together with producer. It is a big mistery as the VS100 throws the out
put ports as soon as we press play. So i was lucky that CT was able to
manage 32 bit version on a 64 bit machine. It must be the computer that has
troubles someware and i am now a bit shaky to start all the mess up again to
go to 64 as i like to. I am also facing troubles with the soundcard inside
my computer. Everytime i plug a headphone in the plug, it get's confused and
are splitting the signal both to the speakers and the headphones. Sounds
pretty strange. I have to check my finances and do a bit of special
attention to my wife, to get another investment accepted either in a new
computer or taking it the hole way with a new surfase.

Take care and thank you for the advise!

Dennis

Dennis, I take your point. OK so, 25% VAT plus 2.5% import tax. Why not
instead purchase a new PC from DARC Audio Computers. They are a specialist
DAW builder over here in the UK. They have had rave reviews in the
specialist magazine for people who are into putting studios together, Sound
On sound. That would cost you less than purchassing from the US. Also, you
would avoid import tax as you would be getting the purchase from another EU
country. Then, you would just need to fire Jaws and Cake Talking on to the
system and you're up and running. URL below:

Hi Phil!

You are absolutly correct. The V A T to getting imported stuff for outside
the EU to Denmark is 25% Only trouble that i am a musician not a computer
freak. That is said with all respect of the people here on the list. Music
is in the same time for me a hobby. I am working full time with sales,
having choldren and are very comittet in cycling and the time i have left
is for making music not trobling with a computer. Not many in denmark are
using Sonar as blind and fore shure i dont know more than one. .

I got my computer in may and had it going as it was a 64 bit machine in
january when i learned about CT, as my only source to sonar introduced me to
jsonar. I have now learned a lot about Sonar and how to install and up date
my gear, Still i dont have the time to follow the development in the
hardware and software. My gear is working now. I am having problems with my
dell computer and when i update the hardware next time. I want somthing that
works out of the box. So i am prepared to pay extra for that knowledge.

Hi Shawn!

I am a VS100 user and are running it as a soundcard and control surface for
producer 805

It is preforming well when recording audiotracks compared to level. It is
sounding digital and clean. As i do not have other cards to compare with, i
can not inform you if it sounds warmer than others. Today if i should start
all over, i would have chosen a different solution as the VS100 does not
work as well together with producer on the bottoms as i have hoped. It is
not accessable as a digital recorder as a stand alone recorder even that it
is build as one. So for me as blind my next set up will be comming as a
complete pack from Dancing dotts.

Personally i have been a fan of roland sound since the early jupiter days.
Now there are also in tune.

Dennis

Shawn:
I may be wrong, but I think the VS700 comes from a colaboration between
CakeWalk and Roland. I have not have any experience with this particular
unit, but before I got my ProjectMix and Sonar, I used to record with a
Roland VS2400CD which is a stand alone digital recorder. Now, as I listen
to my old recordings made with the roland, it seems that they have a
somewhat warmer quality to them as compared to the ProjectMix. Now based on
my very limited experience, I would think that the VS700 will have good
quality pre's.
I think a couple of people on this list are working with the VS100 unit.
They might be able to give you a better idea of the quality of these
interfaces.
