Sorry if I caused confusion. When I used the abbreviation SD, I meant Session
Drummer3
My query is in relation to recording the patterns. The only way I am able to
record the midi patterns is to import the relevant midi file. To find the midi
file I need to know its name. When I open session drummer I can choose from 8
different patterns, which are labelled A to H. It does not tell me the midi
file name for the pattern. Without the file name I am unable to find the file
to import it.
If there is another way please let me know.

After spending a few hours with a friend of mine last night we arrived
at another block with SD. So if you don’t mind I have two queries.
1 I am able to tap out a pattern using my midi keyboard and this is
recording without a problem. But I can’t record any of the SD
patterns. My sighted friend is able to drag the pattern into the
track but I can’t find a way to record it.
2 When using sd and I am in the track view if I press R to record or
spacebar to play it not only plays what is recorded but plays the sd
drum pattern as well. I get around it by, unloading drum pattern A,
then selecting pattern A. This basically bluffs sonar as it is
playing the pattern but there is nothing in it.
Any thoughts or advice?
