Greetings Josh,
So you would like to record a popular song based on what you've mentioned? When
you mean midi, you are talking of using your audio interface as a synth, like a
Rick Asley song (included the drums), then your audio recordings for your
vocals?
Thanks.
Adel

Hello all
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I had actually not considered reading back
over the old cakewalk forums until now but I did find some information on one
of them after a quick google search.
I am still relatively new to all of this. By relatively I mean that i can
record my own midi projects, but I am just getting started with audio effects
and trying to explore what posibilities and options that I have, so I hope that
my questions here are not too basic.

SF, Reaper, and Samplitude will all let you do very fine editing indeed.

Probably either or.
I also use SF Pro 10. I prefer SoundForge for this kind of thing
cause I find editing to precise audio points a bit less cumbersome.
However, I have used SF for many years. If you don't know how to
edit there, I'd suggest staying with my instructions and Sonar...

Thanks very much for the instructions. My apologies for the delay
in getting back to you. Yesterday was a really busy and long day as
my brother got married and I had to go to 2 wedding ceremonies, but
now I am back home and I will try out your instructions as you
suggested In your previous email, you said that you can do this in
sound forge as well. I also have sound forge pro 10 (not sure which
version you have) but I don’t know how to use it at present, but
is it easier to do in sound forge or sonar?
Regards,
Josh

No no. You don't need the clips pane for this at all. I never use it.
Follow my directions right in the track pane. F9 is your starting
point, F10 is your end point, Control enter to select. alt c to
copy and alt v to paste to a new track.
Nudging is done after selecting an area (clip) with control +
numpadinsert and then one of the 6 numpad keys to do the nudge.
I'd recommend going back to the CakeTalking tutorial for further
details. It is really really good and very easy to understand.

Hello floyde
Thanks a lot for this. I will try it out. Now, i have never
really worked in the clips pain before. How do you nudge clips
and coppy words?
All the best,
Josh

Ah okay. I usually do this with SoundForge, but here's how I
would do it with Sonar.
1. Copy the first word (if it' a vocal) and paste that word in a
separate track. Add reverb as an effect. I don't think you're
going to need a high end verb to do this, so even the cakewalk
reverbs should work. I'd recommend any verb with a long decay.
It may work better if you grab the verb through the process menu
and add it that way as 'printed'.
2. Now reverse the whole clip with the reverb.
3. Listen to the soloed clip and exactly at the point where the
now reversed word starts, delete only the word leaving the
reversed reverb.
4. Last step is to nudge the remaining clip to line up and stop
exactly at the point where the word starts on the original track.
Oh and you will probably have to adjust the reverb's volume to
make it be correct.
Hope this helps,
Floyd...

Hello Floyde
Yes. So basically what I’m trying to do is to only reverse
the reberb effect, for example, to have a reverse reverb effect
just before the vocal comes in at, let’s say something like
bar 10 as an example. I don’t want the whole track reversed,
just the reverb effect just before the vocal comes in I hope
that makes sense All the best, Josh

Hey Josh,
I think you were asking if you could reverse a reverb on a
track or clip while that track's audio is not reversed. Is that
right?
Can you tell me exactly what you want to do. I can probably
whalk you through getting it done.
Thanks,
Floyd...

Hi Josh,
I wish I could answer to you earlier but others may already
have answered you. Are you talking of reverb on a midi or
audio track?
Thank you.

Okay. So if you put the reverb effect into the track and you
sellected an area would it only reverse the reverb?

Hi there,
Ohh, that is great. So these commands, are they only to
reverse the actual track?

Hello all
I hope everyone on here is doing well. I wanted to let
everyone know that I am finally up and running with my
equipment again and am creating new projects.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do a reverse reverb
effect in Sonar? I have read on the internet how to do
it, but am unsure if this is possible to do in sonar with
cake talking. Was thinking of adding it to my vocal
recordings and instrument tracks for creative effects
purposes.
