Hi,
I'll respond to the list since I know the message will get through. When I
respond back to your comcast address it bounces. I think it is the same
message I get from another comcast friend who after 5 years of receiving
messages just fine, stopped working last week!
I think comcast is one of the providers who has bought into this stupid
cloudcast.cis or something like that. They get paid to block spam... and even
though I have never sent anything but personal email, and not more than a few a
day to personal friends and never once have had anything to do with spam, am
possibly using an IP for my mail server that once 5 years ago was sued by a
spammer.
Irented/leased this IP for my Unix servers over 3 years ago now, and when I
first got it, major ISP's blocked my mail! AT&T, aol, and a couple other huge
providers. They all said the IP was a spamming IP.
When I called the ISP who leases me the damn thing, they said, oh no, that is
your problem! Can you believe it?
I had to send forms to all the ostmasters of the major ISP's and state the
situation and after weeks and weeks and several big hassles I got them all
working again, and *my* friends emails started not blocking me again.
This is now 3 years later and this stupid new Spam House scammer is claiming my
IP was used for spam 5 years ago!!!! It is freaking unbelievable. I mean it is
really a giant scam just so this new company can make money off of anyone who
is willing to pay for such stupidity.
Apparently, comcast just bought in.
BTW, this new cloudcast.cis or whate4ver the hell it is, is definitely NOT
connected to spamhaus which has always been totally legitimate. I just called
them a spam house for lack of another thing to call them... they are aspam scam.
If the list would not mind, I will post the bounce message I get when I mail to
your comcast address now... but it really isn't appropriate. Do you have
another non comcast address I could use? A friend, a partner/spouse etc?
In any case, I'm not getting any kind of bounce from email sent to DJX's direct
email. It worked one time for me, and then never again. Which is exactly how
this new email scam company works. It must take one getting through which they
analyze and then put their stupid block up.
I sear if I could bring charges against them somehow, I would Grump, groan,
complain! And worse I can't say here.

Jack,
It sounds like you're saying that DJX did not respond to a message
that you might have sent him as well? If so, could you just say yes
or no up here on this list.
I sent him a message off list yesterday, and did not get any response
at all. The message didn’t bounce, but it could be getting blocked.
I mention this to you, because I responded directly to the address you
sent your note from, and it bounced with a 554 message. I would send
the error to you, but it would bounce also! 😊
Anyway DJX message did not bounce, but he did not answer mine as if he
had never seen it, so maybe it was blocked somehow.
Thanks
John
A little more detail for anyone who wants to read it…
I want to make sure I'm not being blocked again by one of the new spam
blocking services... (that I really dislike by the way, they are
extremely incompetent with email and get paid to simply block emails
for their clients based on whatever the hell criteria they want to
dream up...Anyway, that is another story...
Well, I'll state it really quickly... it's an important story to why I
may not be getting through to DJX's direct email... Last week I was
blocked from sending emails to my two close personal friends because
their providers signed on with one of these new services... and they
found some problem with the IP I have been leasing from a VPS
provider. They claim it was once used for spam emailing. How the
hell can I account for email spam that might have been sent from the
same IP I now lease... when it happened a year or more *before* I ever
leased this particular IP... You would think I could argue with my VPS
provider, but no, they say it is my problem!!! This really sucks...
This new service requires that anyone they mark as offending their
possibly 10 year old black lists fill out a form... which is, of
course, highly inaccessible... It all is incredibly frustrating and I
wish I could bring this up to some commission like the FCC, but of
course there is no such for the Internet... maybe there should be...)
/edn of rant
So, let me know Jack, if you tried emailing to DJX directly off-list
and he didn't respond to you either. It willease my mind over this
ongoing problem which I just had to deal with again after nearly two
years.
Thanks,
