Gord:

Is the midiman 2x interface appropriate for what I'm
trying to do? Also, would I have midi in and midi out
for each separate device as it connects to the
interface?

Thanks.

If you want to be able to record in to sonar using
either device, you'll
need to connect the midi outputs of both devices to
two separate midi inputs
on your midi interface.

Subject: [ddots-l] MIDI Setup Question

Hello All:

I'm preparing to use both a Fantom X and an r8 drum
machine to record midi within Sonar. I've never used
two separate instruments before, so I'm asking for
some tips here. I'm going to be using a midiman 2x
for
this operation. So how does this work?

Do I run midi wires both in the midi in and midi out
of each instrument to the midi in and midi out of
the
midiman interface, or do I only need to use the midi
through?

Also, once the wires are in, what do i assign the
midi
outputs to in sonar, considering the fact that I'm
now
using two external instruments?

Thanks for any and all help.
