Tim,

can you explain what you mean by single and multi hosting?

Hi,

That's OK for single-host operation, which is where I think you may be
hitting problems. If you go to the drivers section of www.m-audio.com
you'll find a driver set to install that supports multi-hosting of the unit.
These are the drivers I use with my own M-Audio USB keyboards and I've had
no problems since installing them.

Best wishes.

There are no drivers for the KS in windows XP. its a class complient device which means its strictly "plug n play". You just plug it into the usb port,
turn it on, and windows recognizes it.

It'd be worth re-installing the KS drivers before you start to get
complicated and call M-Audio.

Best wishes.

I installed my new MAudiophileUSB(aftewr some hair pulling) and was very
happy when I loaded up some audio in sonar and everything seemed to work
fine. Then, with sonar still open, I loaded up winamp, set it to use the
audiophile, and that worked too. So far so good.

Then I went to use the MAudio Keystation 49 and everything went south on
me.

I have the KS49 on USB, although it has midi jacks.

This is what happened: After setting a midi track to use a softsynth with
the keystation, it wouldn't sound. Next, I tried to play the audio again
and got a driver error(something like driver doesn't support file format
or
is in use by another device). I switched back to winamp and got the same
error upon playback.

Interestingly, When I turned on the keystation and audiophile and opened
up
sonar, the midi device name for the KS49 had changed. It used to appear
as
USB keystation or something like that. Now it (or something) shows up as
USB audio device, and the audiophile midi jacks show up as audiophile
midi.
Darn strange!

Question: Would I be better off connecting the KS49 via midi cables to
the
audiophile midi 1x1 rather than via USB? It seems like the audiophile is
taking over in some weird way.

Note: the KS49 worked fine for me on USB before installing the audiophile.
I suspect the audiophile drivers don't like the USB competition.
Any help Please!
