John, I’m doing a simple reply, so maybe this won’t go on the list and go just
to you.My wife did comment on some of the KISS videos I shot, but she didn’t
comment on the one of him zip lining. I still have these on my phone, so one
day I’ll get somebody who can see to describe. I do know that perhaps the best
one is the Rock and Roll All Nite with the confetti falling from the ceiling.
I never mess with the facing of the camera. I just know to have the screen
pointing towards me; I guess that is called “back facing”? And to double tap
on the “Start Recording” button is hard to do when your phone is held high in
the air over other people’s heads. I’m trying to recall if pressing the volume
UP button will start the video; I think it will. I know it will take pictures
while in Photo mode, but be careful or it will take 49 pictures in one burst!

Great story.
I wonder what they would do if he ever missed his landing platform. It probably
wouldn’t be funny, but tragic.
Did you ask your wife if you got the stunt on your phone? Doesn’t matter to
me, Icould not see it either, but I’m often recording whatever I can on the
Iphone and just hoping that it comes close to being somewhere in the picture. 😊
I am often sending out images which my friends and family tell me are a great
shot of the ceiling when I’m trying to show the paper on the table in front of
me. 😊
The worst so far is that I did a really perfect 3 minute movie of my cat doing
the greatest trick… and when I sent it out, everyone said it was a terrific
picture of my eybrows… 😊
This may not happen to any of you… but I specifically and carefully put the
camera on back facing or front facing… and when I’m done with the video, the
phone has somehow switched to the opposite or default view. This is incredibly
annoying to me of course, but it does make for some comical replies and
comments.
What do you do with the videos you make at concerts? I have pretty much given
up and just use voice recorder. 😊

Subject: [ddots-l] Hello from MS again
I know this list is not for socializing, but I am going to write this one post.
Jack Conti, I do remember your name as well, as I also remember Chris Smart.
Some of the other big boys I recall are, and I’m not going to spell these write
I’m sure, Phil Muir, DJX, Brian Smart, Kevin Gibbs, Jeff Carlisle, Omer, etc.
I use to enjoy reading about their thoughts and quick fixes for those of us who
were fumbling around with Sonar and accessibility. In regards to the Doobies,
I saw them 2 years ago at an old “hall” here in Jackson, MS—I think 3 of them
were from the original group. In that hall they sounded awesome and sounded
just like their old vinyls. Even though my current genre is country and
classic rock, I went to see KISS in Birmingham last year. Oh my gosh! Gene
and Paul still have it, even though I have heard that some tracks were being
played during the tour. I am writing this to tell you that I videoed with my
iPhone many many songs that turned out reasonably well, considering I can’t see
a thing. Paul zip lined from way up and landed on a platform not far from me.
My wife had to guide my phone to where he was. I didn’t know what she was
doing. It wasn’t until after the concert that I learned what had happened
during the show. But being blind didn’t hinder me from visualizing from what I
heard and what I was told, thus recreating the concert’s special effects and
events. That night put a new spark in me to continue my music—performing and
recording. If Paul and Gene can do it at their ages, then so can I. So my
band is back decently strong, and I will be recording demos of us in the future.
Thanks, guys, for listening. I am here at home for a while, not sick, but just
distancing. We all may be sharing things to one another to pass away the time.
Like I said, this list is not for that purpose, but I just wanted to share why
I have returned. Thanks again, S.
