I think that the only thing the yamaha has going for it the piano sounds, and organ sounds. However the Fantom with the cards installed in to it will give some pretty mean sounds. I have had the Fantom Xr for a little over a year now, and I just love it. I guess its just a matter of personal preference. Yamaha has its strengths and weekness, as does the fantom. Although Roland has an edge on midi communications, as well as USB.

I'm picky on my strings sounds and the choir soudns to. I find that the
yamaha choir sounds are to pure. To fake.

Hi James:

Again, this is purely subjective, but if you're into hip hop, then the
Fantom is definitely the way to go. Also, the Fantom's strings and brasses
are much nicer than the motif's.

The Motif has a help list for blind users. This is partly what has made
it more "user friendly." I had a motif myself and now have a fantom. I'm
learning my way around the fantom, and so far so good. There are
functional advantages and disadvantages to both, and as for which sounds
better, that is purely subjective.

I'm James:
Is the Fatom X Keyboard, more user-friendly than the Motif Keyboard? As
far as, getting around through the menus, and finding patches???
Can anyone advise? Because I love both keyboards, and I'm trying to
decide which keyboard to purchase.
