I recall someone on this list talking about the purchase of some type of power unit to assist these devices. (1) is there such an animal? (2) is it possible that the unit is starting to go? (3) could it be something with the usb ports on the computer, although I used all of them? Thanks in advance. ----- Original Message ----- From: Neal Ewers To: midimag@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 05, 2010 1:56 AM Subject: RE: [midi-mag] correction on Olympus recorder marks being seen by other audio editors Sarah, yes, Oh that the Olympus did what the H1, h2, h4 and h4n recorders do. All their marks are seen by other recording software. So too with the Sony PCM-D50. This is one thing that Olympus does that makes you think that they still largely think about it as a dictation and transcription technology where internal marks would help you get to parts of the dictation. I don't know what it would take to have these recorders drop real marks, but the ones I have seen do not. Hmm makes me want to save up for a zoom h1. you can drop markers in there an even amadus will see them. Take care. " You can drop marks while playing and/or recording, and, in wave anyway, editors like SoundForge and others will recognize them as such." Oh, how I wish this were true, but it is not. These marks are only internal to the Olympus units and thus can only be gotten to while using the recorders. Neal
