It's generally a good practice to leave an empty measure at the start of any
project to give hardware time to wake up and get working. Is it happening
any time you start playing the project or just at beginning?

Well, that would make sense. The motif has a lot of processing to do when
initializing with all the insert effects etc. If you turn off patch search
and controller reset it will help, though I don't really like to do that
because it does cause sustain to stick sometimes when you playback etc.
