It's a particular protocol that some devices use. The firewire connection
looks similar to USB. If you have a firewire card installed then, you would
see it in device manager.

I'm sorry, but what is fire wire? How do you know if you have it? Forgive
my ignorance. Thanks

    Hi Everyone:

Is anyone on here using any kind of soundcard that has a firewire
connection?...One that works successfully with Jaws? lol No tascam fw1884
please! I'm not really looking for a complete control surface, as I'm using a
mixer. I just want a soundcard similar to the m-audio delta series...Gord, I
know you thought that the delta 410 has firewire, but it doesn't. I looked into
it.

Thanks for any and all help.
