I'm not sure what you are talking about.
The link I provided is legitimate. If you want to help Stanford University and others with research by donating some CPU cycles, go for it. If not, that's fine too. But, at least in that instance, it is not a scam. They're not trying to secretly mine criptocurrencies with your computer.
