You probably have set-up an Alt or Control and letter keystroke to start-up Sonar. not releasing the keystroke quickly enough will cause the message your describing to happen, as alt or, control Enter, will cause Sonar to recopy all of the data that it needs to run, such as templates etc. Regarding your FW1884, you really haven't supplied enough information for any of us to help you. have you checked in the "Audio Options" dialog box? are all of the FW1884 input and output audio drivers that you wish to use, checked in the "audio Options" dialog box? Have you reprofiled the FW1884 in the "audio Options" dialog box? Is the control surface on the FW1884 working? Have you enabled all of the FW1884 MIDI ports that you wish to use, including the FW1884 control port that the control surface needs to work in the "MIDI options" dialog box? Have you gone into the "control surfaces" dialog box and checked that the FW1884's control surface has both the input and output MIDI ports, set to the FW1884 control port? Check all of that and read up on all of this in Sonar's help system. Then if you still can't get it going or, can tell us exactly what the issue is, post back your findings. The message is displayed when I start Sonar that says: "Sonar will now personalize your settings by copying application data files. CAUTION: You have chosen to overwrite all application data such as track templates and project templates that you may have customized. This may take a few moments. Click OK to continue or Cancel to abort the personalization." If I click "OK" it starts copying files and prompting me as to whether I want to overwrite particular files. If I click cancel, it drops me into Sonar, but the Tascam control surface doesn't respond at all. I've been getting this message sporadically since I upgraded to 7 a couple of weeks ago. I also got a message on an earlier session saying that there was a problem with the audio driver. I may have inadvertently hit disable driver. Can you tell me how to check this and turn the driver back on if that is indeed what has happened? I'm pretty sure that I hit "use anyway" though. I don't know if the two issues are related or not. Any help would be appreciated. * In His Abiding Presence, Jay "I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.
