Robert, we're talking about a software program here...

Hi Chris, It sounds like it's in a digital format which JAWS can't read. Try loading the screen into Kurzweil 1,000 if you have that program by way of the virtual printer. It will read digital formats and I believe it handles MP3's. Robert.

Hi folks.

I have some good news and some bad news.

First, the good news. Someone has written a software application that provides the facilities to design your own ear training drills for improving critical listening skills for audio engineering applications like mixing and mastering.
www.trainyourears.com
You can create your own drills, or load in custom drills and audio contributed by users. the possibilities seem endless. The current version of the program deals with equalization, but other versions that deal with other aspects of professional audio are planned. Also, the program only costs 29 Euros.

Now, the bad news. It seems that the program is completely invisible to Jaws! I bought a copy to try, and after the usual installation process, I ran the program and ... nothing. The screen appears to be completely blank, at least where Jaws is concerned. I don't have anybody here to describe what's going on, so there are two possibilities.

1. Upon program launch, some sort of splash screen or registration screen is displayed, which seems entirely graphical. Perhaps once you get past this hurtle, things improve. or

2. Once you get past this screen, nothing improves and we can't use this software.

So, I have contacted the company and asked how the user interface was designed, and if anything can be done to improve the situation. I mentioned that the low price of the software and it's customizability make it very attractive, and that I know many blind musicians and audio professionals who might be interested, if only it were accessible!

So, we'll see if they have anything to offer. Or, I'll just ask for my money back. *sigh*

If you'd like to contact the company, just hit ENTER on "support" or go to:
