My installation files for Dimention Pro are the one that came with
Sonar 8.5, it's D Pro 1.20.
so the update basically upgrade the installation to 1.5.

Mark, he'll probably need the 1.0.2 update as well, do you have it? If his
version is 1.0, 1.0.2 is required before upgrading. It's either 1.0.2 or
1.2.0, I can't remember the exact numbering, but I do know for a fact you
can't upgrade straight to 1.5 from 1.0, the installer will even warn you
about it.
Product updates didn't seem to be Cakewalk's strongest point... lol

Cakewalk is no longer in business, so you may have to find another
place to safely download those updates...

I try to update but get stuck. My cakewalk account either is
outdated or I didn't even have one. The serial numbers and
Registration codes are at hand. They write "The creation of a new
account is currently disabled. I got Sonar and Dimpro in October
2010. When I try to learn more they refer me to the Cakewalk on
Bandlab website. Do they want me to create an account there? Feel
like I'm asking some silly questions, but I'm just missing a way
straight forward.

This should still work, but the newer version has some major bugs
fixed and is also 64bit.
You will need to install Dim 1.2 update first before updating to
1.5, the installer will warn you of this.
Alternatively, if you ever got a SOONAR x1, 2 or 3 update, it
should have come with a full installer of Dim1.5 which was vastly
improved, as they now use flac/aac files for the samples as oppose
to wav. The library shrunk from around 8GB to around 3.5, and even
loads a little faster, mostly due to the smaller file sizes.

For reasons I don't understand, so far, I didn't succeed inserting
DimPro into Reaper. I installed from the DVD using the VST option.
I also added the path to the respective dll-file to reaper's
preferences and made a complete rescan. Still, I don't find
dimension Pro, when I try to insert a virtual instrument. But here
I suspect a lack of knowledge about reaper.
