The TV news program 60 Minutes will be airing a special segment on 3 blind
music prodigies this Sunday, Oct 23. This program is a follow-up to a
similar program that aired last year.
The program will focus on 26 year old British jazz pianist, Derek
Paravecini, as well as two American children, Rex Lewis-Clack (10 years old)
and Rachel Flowers (12 years old). Both children are taught by David Pinto,
executive director of the Academy of Music for the Blind. Mr Pinto is a well
known JAWS scripter who has made computer music programs accessible to blind
musicians, including the late great Ray Charles.
Both Rachel and Rex use the Cakewalk SONAR MIDI/Audio recording program
along with CakeTalking, the JAWS scripts that make SONAR accessible. Dancing
Dots is the sole distributor of both CakeTalking for Sonar, and
SibeliusSpeaking for Sibelius (Ray Charles' program of choice for notating
music.).
