Sorry to hear that you had such a serious problem with Maplins's web site.
I must say, I've never used Maplins's web site, always either purchased from
their shops or buy phone.
I always found the staff to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable on all
kinds of electronics.
I needed a Swann attachment for my microphone stand so I could tilt my Shure
SH55 Classic 1950's microphone in the same way that Jerry Lee Lewis use too.
The music shops didn't have a clue as what I was asking for, however, the
guys at Maplins knew straight away plus, I expected the Swann attachment to
be around £15 and in fact it was only somewhere around £3.
It was these same guys that sorted out the solution regarding the noise I
was getting from the lap top by suggesting trying a Ground Loop Isolator.
I'm pleased you pointed out the problem with the web site, as I won't be
tempted to use it now.
Hope the Rush project is going well.
