Hi,
Read the records into script language variables on every other page.
Always return the variables in the mail merge fields on your page.
That is a simple solution.
which I would need to give considerable though into - I might be
confortable programming, but I've never delved into the OPro script
system
I feel there is a need to think about what is a field and what is a
record in the csv file and then in the document - I am proposing the
mail merge tags convert csv records into document fields.
It's annoying that I almost got it to work by using tiling.
I laid out two A4 pages side by side on an A3 sheet. I produced the
output for the first card on the top of each sheet, inserted a
nextrecord, repeated for the second card on each page, another
nextrecord, then a third set of data.
Whewn I went to "print", selecting "Tile" it insisted on outputting
3x2 instead of 2x1.
Bearing in mind that I am using a duplex printer and Richard Darby's
duplex feeds system I would expect that to produce 3 double-sided
sheets, with the second and third containing no print.
I got a double-sided sheet with the correctly merged data on both
sides followed by 5 more sheets. Depending on how close the print was
to the printer margins, I sometimes got printing on one side of the
second and third sheets. It's as though the duplexing has got turned
off after the first sheet. However, watching the printer, all 6 sheets
of paper weere duplexed - so it actually output 11 or 12 pages to the
printer.
If it were only possible to tell "tile" to output 2 x 1 and ignore the
overflows, all would be well.
