An interesting article by Stephen Wolfram about how ChatGPT works. Some of
it's behavior is emergent and unexpected, and this explains how it is that
we don't actually know how or why some of it really works, it just... does:

ChatGPT is not regurgitating memorized clips of what it has been trained
on. It is doing something *very *different than that. The text of the
world is *not *stored anywhere inside it.
