We have created such a unique community out of an initial interest in the
invisible pixel or the naked cat. We have 20 plus years of checking in,
updating each other and discussing what interests us. There is a
definite sense of loss as people pass. I remember Rosalie as many of you do
with such fondness, she always had such a positive caring response to
everything. I feel the loss like I would any old friend who I've kept in
contact with over the years.
There are things I say in real life that other people just don't get
because they aren't dubbers. Is it so wrong to suggest to someone you would
like to spit shine their belt buckle?

work more than once as did Macker looking for belt buckle shining tips. I
mailed stuff to Spring’s children. Katherine sent me pot holders and pink
salt. Marya sent a drawing that was always on my office wall. Brian worked
on the same campus as me. Weird. Judy lived downstate and was my
short-haired mini me who could faint on demand. She was the first house
guest in my last home. Jeff, Inspector Gadget, spent some years near me in
his childhood. Kate sent me a Saskatchewan belt buckle and a marvelous
cookbook. Rosalie spent time in my orbit as well. More than one of you
supported my charitable causes. All of you, even if we’ve never met, are as
real as real can be and I’m thankful for our friendship even if it’s not
what I imagined as “real” friendships 20 years ago. Sooo much time on
email! What a long strange trip it’s been with more roads to travel.
Nothing more I can say about this other than that I appreciate you and
your wacky connection/friendship in my life. A naked cat and invisible
pixels brought amazing people into my life.
