Yeah, I saw a video on how to do exactly that, and for the briefest of
brief seconds I thought "*should I do that?*", and then immediately thought
"no, because the rest of the world is about to".
This doesn't surprise me one tiny bit. Anyone who ever wanted to put out
content, but who wasn't industrious enough or creative enough to actually
DO it, but who IS industrious enough to tell a chatbot what to do, is going
to flood all markets with generated content.
This is a step back onto the path of "curated content" like we used to
mostly have. If the market is soooooo flooded with self-published crap
that you can't tell good from bad, then people are going to want to start
skipping the Café Press books and start only paying attention to Bantam,
Doubleday, Dell, Tor, and etc., i.e., publishers which don't (or at least
try not to) publish crap. At least with them you know *someone *read the
book and thought it was worth investing in. That's definitely not true
with self-published stuff.

It's not a shock to me, not one tiny bit,
Those who lack the drive or art to create,

We're back to curated content, it seems,
Where only the best will earn our regard,
If self-publishing's overrun with schemes,
We'll look to publishers who work quite hard.
At least with them, there's someone to invest,
In work they believe is worth their behest.
