DART has a launch scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 8 AM to noon. The
forecast for Sunday morning looks good. Temperatures in the high 50's to
mid 60's, partly sunny, and low winds (2 MPH at 8 AM, increasing to 8 MPH
by noon).
After the recent rains, Fiesta Island may have areas of standing water in
the parking area and on the launch field. Proceed carefully.
Remember that rocket flights must be lower than our altitude ceiling of
1,000 ft. Be sure to choose your recovery device (streamer or parachute)
size such that your rocket will recover within the boundary of the field.
This is especially important in breezy conditions. Most small sport models
should use streamers.
Discount Rocketry will likely be at the launch with their large mobile
hobby store. They carry a wide range of rocket kits, motors, and supplies.
