from my personal experience and viewpoint you did a very good (!) job over
the last decades (!) i'm following and supporting the project. this is a very
long time of steady reliability.
darkice is not a software which really often needs new features and a lot of
changes / patch management. it was a slowly evolving project which resulted
in a small and handy code base / pice of software. this is a feature in
itself for me - as smaller and cleaner the code, as more flexible and robust
it works for it's intentional applications. less is often more there.
if someone complains about the lack of any new feature (i.e. codec) or found
glitches he is free to write a patch - in the minimum quality for the
existing darkice code - and it could be accepted then. If not, even a fork is
possible.
i'm not sure how much effort / ressources it takes for you to maintain darkice
further as in the past, but i have no problem with your work in any way so
far.
for the case that any other will get / take over the maintainers head: pls
(@Rafael) contact me directly for the "authorization" of the recieving /
target maintainer person - so i could give him/her access to the http://
darkice.org website and email adresses. we will further sponsor it for free
in any way and provide further ressources (i.e. git, mailman or similiar) too
if wanted.
