Well, it's been an exciting ride so far. Last night was a real interesting
evening where most of us got to meet our members significant others and we
had guests who had not seen the club for years. We had two new members voted
into the club, Lori Saine and Mamtha (last name unknown). Neither are yet on
this distro list, but welcome them next Tuesday. I didn't schedule Lori or
Mamtha for next week as they are getting into the system.
With the new members entry into the game, I've added a new role, AH Counter.
This is currently a loose part of the Grammarian role. In this case going
forward, Grammarian will listen for language issues and Word of the Day. AH
Counter will listen for Ah, Er, double clutches, starting sentences with "So,
" (my personal bad habit), etc. AH counter will be armed with a clicker and
provide real-time feed back to the speaker (all roles to be clicked except
prepared presentations -- unless requested).
Also note that with the introduction of the new members, I am at this point
scheduling a free day for someone each week. You may not appear on the
schedule for a week, please come as an audience member and enjoy the show.
We need an audience as much as anything else in this game!
Yesterday was a landmark day because Toastmasters Pathways went into effect
for our district and club. At this point, everyone needs to log into
Toastmasters International and start their Pathway's interview. Remember,
you have your choice if you are going to continue down the manual route or
adopt the Pathways experience. It is your choice.
Two weeks ago, the contest winners were Dirk (Speech contest) and Brissa (TT
contest). On Saturday, April 7th these two will represent our CVTM club at
the Area Contest. If you have the ability to attend, we would appreciate your
support as we're supporting our club in the district.
Also note, if you have not done so, dues are due to Annamarie for the next
six months -- $69.
