Yes perl -v comes back with 5.10. The log for the startup failure still mentions "_assp", it was in: /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.oitc.assp.plist Removed the last "_" starts right up. One last question I am seeing the message "File::Scan::ClamAV module not installed" in the ASSP log.
