Hi all!
This is just a follow-up note to remind folks of the upcoming workshop
titled "Environmental Monitoring: the Basis for Better Decisions" being
held in Edmonton and put on by the Canadian Society of Environmental
Biologists. We have a great line-up of speakers and sessions, and this
workshop will be of interest to folks working on all aspects of
monitoring and to regulators and proponents.

poster. Registration information is also on the web site; you can
either mail in the form with a cheque, or fax it with a credit card
number to the registrations chair.
We are still looking for a few more abstracts, and the template is
attached. So far there are sessions scheduled on aquatic monitoring
(both regulatory and research), terrestrial monitoring, biodiversity,
climate change, measuring air transport of contaminants, and an
integrated monitoring case study from BC. I would love to see more
presentations on aspects of study design and monitoring standards, and
on wetlands and aspects of ecosystem-level monitoring. What do you need
to know to make better decisions as regulators, land managers,
operators/proponents, or researchers? Let us know what you are doing!
There is also the option of presenting a poster.
The deadline for abstracts has been extended to Sept. 4th.
