It would be great to see you on New Year's Eve, even better if you will say
a few words; we so rarely get together, and comrades are excited to spend
some time together, if only virtually.

Dear comrades,
In view of the highly contagious Omicron variant of COVID-19 that is
rapidly spreading across the United States, we are not recommending
in-person New Year's eve gatherings this year. Instead the Internationalist
Group and Revolutionary Internationalist Youth together with CSEW, CSWP and
TIC will be holding an online Internationalist New Year's event, via Zoom.
The event will begin at 10 p.m. EST (9 p.m. CST, 7 p.m. PST) on Friday,
December 31 and go until after midnight Eastern time, concluding with
singing the Internationale. All comrades and close sympathizers are
invited. Comrades from other sections of the LFI, particularly the Grupo
Internacionalista/México, may be joining in as well. A Zoom invitation will
be sent to you on Friday.
Plans are to have a slide show of events that we collectively have
participated in over the last year, some short videos (May Day, Columbia
strike, possibly others), as well as poems, short readings and music,
similar to last year. Lyrics will be sent out. In addition, those of the
youthful persuasion would like to hold a Marxist trivia game. Particularly
since many of us have not seen each other for quite awhile due to the
pandemic, and most study groups are conducted voice only, comrades are
encouraged to turn their cameras on, if they feel comfortable doing so.
Yari and Maeve are organizing the event, and will be contacting local
organizers and comrades who would like to contribute artistically or
otherwise. If you would like to read a poem or short passage, or would like
to play a musical selection, let the organizers know so that they can put
