*On Wednesday, Dec. 8th starting at 8AM, the Internationalist Club will be
attending the SWC-UAW picket line as they mobilize to shut the university
down in response to a retaliation attempt by the administration. The picket
line will be at Columbia's main campus at 116th Street and Broadway. It
will be important to have people there starting at 8AM, but it will be
going on throughout the day. *
The Internationalist Club has been attending the SWC-UAW picket line for
the past five weeks as the Student Workers struggle for a contract. As they
go into their 6th week on strike, Columbia University has threatened to
replace the student workers.
The union is responding to this retaliation and escalation by mobilizing
all those who work and study in this city to shut Columbia University down! *On
strike means shut it down,* which means all classes, deliveries, and
facility operations stopped—this can only be achieved with *a strong picket
line that no one dares cross.*
We in the Internationalist club want to mobilize as many CUNY students as
possible *to join the picket lines this Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 8am onwards
at 116th and Broadway*.
