Lovely story...apparently he put some code on to Twitter in 1914 to draw
attention to some problem or other. Some bad guys picked it up and used it as
part of a programme to extract customer ids from banks, via program called
KRONOS. I do hope that the FBI are right, because there is a big stink
developing internationally about his arrest, particularly from another Hackers
meeting in the Netherlands, who reckon he is innocent and being picked on. He
is a non- violent person, apparently, 23 years old, comes from Devon in
England, went along to DEFCON, well known in the trade, with plenty of
curiosity, and with little money, can't even afford bail, spending the weekend
in nick; and has had to ask for the courts discretion in not making him come to
court with a ball and chains around his arms and legs and a gag in his mouth,
in case he tries to tell the truth or murder everyone and escape, like any good
hacker would. 40 years is the length of sentence for the charges with which he
has been accused. A lot less if he works for the FBI and a small wage to go
along with it...methinks....do you think I am joking...:-)
If you are sufficiently interested, and I am sure you are, as we are all
interested in human rights; then there are urls posted in the article where you
can look at what he has published on Twitter. For ease of use I have posted
those below. I am not technically savvy so don't know what the code means, some
kind of hook, so presumably it is for catching virtual fish.
Quote<<<And in 2015, Hutchins revealed on Twitter his shock at finding some
other code he wrote being used within malware – Kronos, to be exact.
