Interesting article explaining how section 702 of the FISA is
manipulated so that people who are charged with crimes are not told how
the illegal evidence was obtained against them, so that they know
nothing about it, and therefore cannot appeal their eventual conviction;
and how this ability to avoid court cases about it, after assurances
were given at the Attorney General level that they would be given this
information, so that they could pursue it in court; is going to affect
the renewal of the legislation going through the US Congress at present,
as the old legislation comes to an end in December.

It is, of course, an old technique used by the state, as part of their
presentation of evidence in cases of National Security v Public
Interest; but now applied much more efficiently via modern technology,
to avoid disclosing sources of information, the reason being, that to do
so, goes the argument, it would inform a potential threat about the
methods and practices of state intelligence and surveillance systems.
We all know of course, that one of the main reasons has nothing to do
with that, but more to do with keeping the illegal techniques of mass
surveillance away from the public domain, in case the population wizens
up to what is going on. All terrorists and criminals are pretty stupid
of course, and not internet savvy and wouldn't already know about such
things from various web sites or being experts in criminality. Being
that is it may, by using the Parallel Construction method, the law
enforcement agencies find out about a suspect in the first place via
looking at intercepts gained from mass surveillance data bases which are
created with or without a warrant, legally or illegally, be it a US
citizen or anyone else. When evidence of a crime is found, then parallel
construction is used to create a new "legal" evidential base, so that it
looks like the FBI etc have done it all on their clever little ownio and
within their own legal resources, rather than by gaining it illegally
and surreptitiously from the NSA. This evidence is then presented to
the court as legal and credible evidence, without any repercussions for
law enforcement, prosecutors or other agents and agencies of the state.
Not very good for the civil liberties of the individual US citizen, not
very trustworthy and credible, I would have thought, but there you are,
such is the hypocrisy and arrogance and stupidity of the ruling
establishments. One law for the state, no law for the citizen.
The lengths to which these people will go to "hide" what they are doing
is quite amazing. A whole gang of innocent, non-aligned state secret
conspirators working together unaware of one another, from all branches
of the legal and political establishment to create a legal fiction, as
good as, if not better than a Hollywood Best Seller. I sometimes think
that these guys watch too many Hollywood films on their government
computers when they should be working on behalf of the citizen. It
appears to me that the only bit of the US written constitution left,
which hasn't been subverted by the state, is the 2nd Amendment...and I
can see why...:-)
Take a look at the Bundy Case... For a classic Hollywood Scenario by
the FBI of creating a parallel construction...or universe

Here we had a film company set up by the FBI to make a documentary about
the Bundy family. Even though they were all just learning, and made
loads of bungles, they managed to fool the Bundy family, for a while,
but to no avail. The production was crap, the cinematography was crap,
the acting was crap, the direction was crap, the compilation was crap,
the distribution was crap, to be limited to a few in the courts, rather
than the mass market; the evidence gathered was crap. The one thing
that was brilliant, was the funding. It was paid wholeheartedly by the
US taxpayer...though they weren't asked or even told about it.
