A 10 minute view of American Capitalism by a Utopian Capitalist. I like
it...We have to change our view, change our frame of reference, now that
Chinese Capitalism is going to outstrip US Capitalism. As we all know,
there is no democracy in China, no freedom of speech, no freedom of
religion and all enterprises have to be registered or licensed by the
state, it is a dictatorship...in a word. This is exactly the opposite
of American and Western Capitalism, which doesn't suffer from any of
those things and the people are free to do what they like, say what they
like, societies where men and women and ethnic minorities, and
immigrants are treated equally, and can practice any religion from
Creationism to Communism without any interference from the state, even
having the right to worship arms.
Try to look on Capitalism as a tool, an operating system, and not an
ideology, and we will be able to face the Brave New World with optimism
and happiness and reframe the American Dream into a pleasurable
playground where we can all enjoy Hollywood films and virtual games and
ignore the declining infrastructure and the open sewers which are homes
to the 40 million Americans who live in poverty.
Yup! I can see it all now...what a wonderful future for us all...
They guy didn't say that, by the way. I just interpreted his words
differently...:-)
