I agree. Also, I should add that if Trump be re-elected, he will do crazy stuff
because he won't feel that he needs people's votes anymore.
And also, many countries like Germany, France, and UK so have disagreements
with US now regarding its foreign policies. Just like how they refused to
comply with US request to activate the snapback mechanism in Iran's nuclear
deal.

Hi Ali,
Che Guevara brings back memories. I had one of those famous icons...a
poster of him up on my bedroom wall for years...when I believed in
heroes and saviours. Ah! Well! The world moves on and the USG killed
him off a long time ago, via its Bolivian friends...He tried to export
revolution, but the people of Bolivia and the USG weren't ready for it.
That's the trouble with being an optimist...revolutions invariably start
to early or if they do get started, they end to early...evolution is
better in my view...change tends to be more gradual and less painful and
more peaceful and the more people that change helps, then the better it
is for more of us...that's my philosophy, at any rate...:-)
Things are still the same...but perhaps there will be some improvement
now...regarding human rights in the USA...though what the attitude will
be to the rest of the world if Biden wins the election...Who knows. I
know one thing, that if Trump gets back in, stuff is going to get really
bad, he is like a spoilt child throwing tantrums all the time, and needs
a bit of discipline.
It doesn't seem to matter who gets into power in the USA, the rest of
the world has to suffer the aggressive and imperialist outlook of its
ruling establishment...tweedle dum v tweedle dee. We live in a changing
world, and the speed of change is growing, new ideas and new principles
in all sorts of areas are being worked out... a bit of glasnost and
perestroika required...in the rest of the world...and a bit of regime
change...through democratic elections and by the will of the people, of
course...Our species is polluting the planet and wasting its resources
and destroying the biospheres' ability to recover. Still, mother earth
has wiped out many species on the planet before us, and I dare say that
it will happen again, when we have outdone our usefulness and a newer
and more advanced species takes over...pr we go back to the bacteria and
insects and start all over again...

Dear Doug, and all of you guys, when it comes to USA being hero of

peoples of the world and against a large part of its own population."

Has Linkevicius had a look at the USA of late...one wonders...Funny how
the USA government can help other countries introduce democratic
government measures and human rights ino their systems...Ha! Ha!.. yet
cannot do it in its own country...Now why is that...there is equality of
the sexes and equality of the ethnic minorities in the USA, an example
to the whole wide world...;-) Of course...its Fox News...or should I say
Fake News again...

Few countries are watching Belarus closer than neighboring Lithuania.
he eastern European country of Belarus is wracked by strikes and protests.
That follows last week’s presidential election the opposition and
international observers say was rigged, and then the subsequent
crackdown by authorities.
Few countries are watching all of this closer than neighboring
Lithuania. And few public figures are playing a bigger role than its
Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius.
With his country’s history of breaking free from then-Soviet bonds,
Linkevicius marvelled at the outpouring of people against what’s seen as
an oppressive government. “They deserve a better life,” he told Fox News
via Zoom, “they deserve a normal democratic environment.”
With European Union leaders set to meet online Wednesday to discuss what
measures to take regarding Belarus, the Foreign Minister is looking to
Washington for support, “We would expect now some decisions, sanctions,
pressure,” he said, “The U.S. was always a voice of democracy and
freedom.”
When asked why Americans, dealing with so many issues right now, should
concern themselves with the plight of Belarus, his reply was simple and
straightforward: “We’re talking about universal values… they are
challenged by dictatorship”
