Usually things work out better when they focus on the main things.
The cross pollination is hardly new though – think of all the mini games in 
FF7. No one will argue that the Condor fight was a good rts though.

The last boss fight in Sonic Generations – that evil 3d flying one. Don’t make 
the very last boss in a game in a completely different gameplay type to any 
you’ve seen before. I’m all for bosses having interesting mechanics, or forcing 
you to think outside the box, but don’t just completely shift the type of game 
I’m playing. If I wanted Descent, I’d be playing it.
Hmmm. I miss Descent. The new one looks like fun.

Yeah.
Im constantly yelling at the kids on my lawn.
But I do think the cross pollenation of genre's is getting a bit out of hand.
Multi genre games are fine but now games are expected to have a certain amount 
of this and a pinch of that.
Like you cant have a top game unless it blurs the lines between 3rd 
person,fps,rpg ..... so on.

I can't wait untill every game has elements of rpg,fps,rts,moba....

So sick of playing different games for a variety of experience.
Instead I would like all games to be the same so they can cater to everyone 
equally.
Then we can all be happy as gamers with one single identity.
