Its anime series where a modern day japanese warship gets transported to WW2
Japan.
Even tho its a tiny ship they are extremely OP when compared to old ones and
could single handedly change war and make Japan (Their country) or anybody else
win.
There is an argument in the show regarding this and some think that losing the
war turned japan into a better country.
So killing hitler and preventing WW2 could lead to the same shitheads still
running Japan and causing kak elsewhere because nobody dropped those bombs on
them causing them to change.
etc. etc.

to killing 49 to save 51? Does the severity of the person’s crimes dictate the

imprisonment. If a person has shown that they lack the capability to abide by

What compounds this problem even further is that society makes those rules and
those rules are subject to change. How can we ever hope to answer that question
with absolute certainty when the very laws we live by are transmutable?
Factor in morality as a complex conundrum on its own which can't merely be
oversimplified in terms of binary absolutes and you have a real challenge on
your hands. It's an easier thing to not ponder these things than it is to
ponder them.

As for killing everyone involved being the only viable option? I have
absolutely zero idea what it would take to prevent the Holocaust. It could be
one of those things where a simple word in the right ear at the right time
could completely alter the path of history. Or it could be one of those river
of time situations where you are simply dropping pebbles in – causing minor
ripples, but not altering the flow or destination.
My argument there against LB’s assertion was that if you are going the path of
killing the person responsible, you need to make sure that no one else is going
to pick up where they left off. There were a lot of pretty damned evil Nazi
folks around. A large part of why Germany lost WW2 was because Hitler was an
idiot at tactics and didn’t trust his generals. Killing Hitler could be what
causes Germany to win. They had the capability of taking out most of Europe. As
long as they leave Russia alone and don’t get the US involved, things could’ve
turned out very different.

I read "The Reader" recently. No time travel involved, but it raises some very
interesting (perhaps even controversial) questions about punishment and
absolution for those involved in the Holocaust.
At what point do we say, it's okay to murder someone? Regardless of the
severity of the crimes said individual has committed, how does your murdering
him/her make you any less of a monster?
