CP Merchantise Services.
The Canadian Pacific Merchandise Services structure may be of Vancouver, a
new structure opened in 1959?? close to CPR's Drake Street yard. I have the
information in one of my CP scrapbooks, of CP officials cutting the ribbon
for the official opening, As I remember Grant McConachie president of
Canadian Pacific Airlines was there in the photo. Perhaps the facility might
have been elsewhere on the CP System CPMS operated from Vancouver Island to
Thunder Bay. CPMS was big in Western Canada. CPMS units travelled on CPR
B.C. Coast Steamships from Vancouver to their terminal at Nanaimo-they
covered all the Island

Subject: [cpsig] possible CP style structure
I have searched in vain on the BC Archives website for a photo I foundyears ago titled "New CP
Merchandise Services building".structure at the url below;
Anyway, if I recall correctly, it looked like the newly announced Walthers
http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-2918mentioned looked
Can anyone provide any confirmation on whether or not the CP structure I
like this? The photo I saw years ago showed baggage cars, boxcars andreefers spotted at the building...what a great traffic source!
Thanks
