Your question is ambiguous as I do not know what you mean by foot rest. For a
working crew, you always stand on the side where the person who is looking for
your signal(s) will be. That could be the engineer or it could be another
trainman.
Guys when you are standing on tracks in front of switch stand which side is
the foot rest tobe on. Pictures seem to tell me it doesn't matter but I
thought I should ask.Thanks Steve
