There was a question on whether CP ran GM demonstrators on the line to test
them out and indeed that was the case. I don't know about the Vermont line
but in early 1950, EMD F7 7001 and two F7B's, 7002 and 7003 ran trials on
the mainline over the mountains from Calgary to Vancouver and, I believe,
they ran between Toronto and Windsor too. I may be wrong on that point but
I'm sure someone on the list knows more about it and correct me?
