Actually, 6590 made appearances on the KVR until around 1955. As you note, 6590-6591 were fairly regular performers in the 1950-51 era, but I have records of 6590 much later than that. (I should specify that I don't have an official record of the presence of 6591, but understood from the late Gib Kennedy that it was indeed operated on the KV run.) The Fort series were regular cars in the last year of regular passenger service on the KV.

Hi Jeff,

You thing that the KVR would also be braking the door down for
cars 6590-6591 they operated for years on train 11 and 12 till about
1950 or 1951. When they were re-asgnd to train 7 and 8.

The same can be said about the 6480-6488 buffet-parlor cars.
These cars operated almost exclusivily on trains 11-12 and 67-68 for
a number of years.

As for the "Fort" Class I have to make both configurations. The
as built and the 1949 modified verision. This is the one the KVR boys
are looking for. Your after the earlier verision.

I've had to make special windows only used on this car. Its
little rinkles like that. That slow the early releases. We're trying
to complete all of the tail end cars by the end of this year.

So that we can start work on serval series of cafe-parlor, cafe-
coach, buffet-parlor, parlor, restaurant sleepers, and lunch counter
sleepers.

As I have said before I'll let you know before I release them.

Regards,
Fred Shannon

Fred, what's happening with the sides for the Fort cars?  I'm
eagerly
waiting for you to finish them so I can model trains 51 and 52, the
Great
West Express.

I'm surprised the Kettle Valley fans aren't breaking your door down
for them
either?  The Fort cars served their last year in revenue service on
the KVR.
If you're modelling fall '56 through to '57 you'll want a Fort car
for
trains 67, the Kootenay Express and 68, Kettle Valley Express.

Cheers.

Jeff
