By that reasoning, Pennsy's K4's and Southern's Ps-4's were names too.
The fact that you refer to engines by their model or class designation doesn't
make them names.

FEF was simply what they called their Northerns, not a name...... I
understand the point, but if that's what you're called, it becomes your
"name".....
