Brent, I think your colour choices are as good as any. Some years ago, I was
able to obtain a couple of
paint chips from the CPR station at Okanagan Landing. These were taken from
high up on the building,
under the eaves, where the sun don't shine. I would describe the main colour as
red oxide, and the trim
a very dark brown, like dark chocolate. The window sashes were a light cream
colour.

Personally, I don't worry too much about getting an exact colour since you will
never know exactly what the colour was backwards in time. Red seems to be a
difficult colour for photography, Kodachrome was particularly bad for
exaggerating reds, so even if you find photo's the colours won't be correct to
what it was.
I use floquil/polly scale oxide red for the structures, roof brown and depot
buff for the trim. By painting all the railway buildings with the same colours
you create the "company" look. I might weather each structure differently, but
start from the same base colours.
