From the book "Silk Trains" by Bernard Webber, these times are mentioned-
Vancouver to New York City 83 hours 56 min.was the fastest(1926)
Average for silk trains for the same trip was 90 hours 49 min.
I couldn't see a time for Vancouver to Fort William. An average speed of 35 mph. was mentioned.

Hi: Tried to access the web but it didn't work, so after seeing
your name
decided to contact you. Don't have anything to contribute but do
have a
question about the silk trains. Stuart McLean has broadcast twice
on his
radio program info about the silk trains and how quickly the steam
engines
moved from Vancouver to Fort William side lining anything in their
path.
What I would like to know is how many hours it took to get from
Vancouver to
Fort William?
Your help is appreciated,
C. Cote
