After fumbling for a definitive response to David's query, and in case
anyone else on this list is interested, it appears the louvres were a
production feature on early CP SD40-2s up to and including the DRF-30k
order. From a review of various images and information in the "1993 CP Rail
Review" the DRF-30m through DRF-30w units had none. What had confused me was
the unit numbers in the 'k' and 'm' series as follows:
DRF-30k 5659-5674, 5806-5835 (blt 4/73 through 3/74)
DRF-30m 5800-5805, 5836, 5675-5717 (blt 12/74 through 2/75)
