Thats interesting about the change in CPR lettering I had heard the 1936 figure
thinking it was a depression austerity move . i AM BUILDING
Dave, I heard the same story as you when I was growing up and, as you, accepted
it as fact. When I started working with Dale Wilson researching passenger car
history I discovered that there are a great many things that people “know”
about the CPR passenger car fleet that was entirely false or only partially
accurate.
I have a two part article coming to CP Tracks on passenger car painting and
lettering which I hope will help dispel some myths and set some of the facts
straight. While I don’t like the idea of being wrong, I’m hoping that I’ll be
able to shake some new information out too. :-)
A GROVE CLASS SLEEPER FROM Norwest Models right now . I will coat some Black
Cat Golld decals and use them then hear all the comments at our train club lol.
thanks Jeff for the infro DAVID HILL
The 5 cars in the first order of GROVE cars were Ash Grove, Elm Grove, Fir
Grove, Oak Grove and Pine Grove.
