The National museum has a large collection of CPR steam drawings. It is
catalogued and they may have the back head drawing for the D10.
ExpoRail has the Kingston CLC drawing collection. They may have the back head
drawing there.
You can also try the South Simcoe Railway. They have D10g #1057 and may be
able to help.

Subject: [cpsig] D-10g Cab/Backhead Information
Hello All,
My name is James Jensen and I'm the Supervisor of Collections and Exhibits for
the Waterloo Region Museum and Historic Sites (we're located in Kitchener, ON).
Our living history village has a CPR D-10g (#894) on static display. It
underwent a significant cosmetic restoration some years ago, and we are
currently planning to undertake a similar project to keep it in a good state of
preservation.
That being said, the fittings in the cab are largely missing. It's possible
they disappeared before WRM received the locomotive from CP several decades
ago; it's just as likely they were removed here. The cab was unsecured until
the restoration mentioned above. We are now seeking photographs and/or
drawings of the cab and backhead arrangement so we can try to restore them more
fully.
I'm hoping list members may be able to point us in the direction of where we
might find these. As is often the case, the online collection access for many
heritage institutions that might hold this information are of little use in
determining what they actually have. A quick look online has not revealed any
interior cab photos. I have found CLC-967-84 in the CPHA online database,
which is of some help. I'm part of this group as I already have a lifelong
interest in Canadian railways, and have checked the books I own to no avail.
I ask directly here in the hopes that members might have and be willing to
share what they know, or can tell us "institution X has the drawings you're
looking for". There are some gauges coming up for auction within the next week
of so, so we are hopeful that some information might come to light that would
help us in determining if there are items we could use.
Thanks in advance,
James
