RE: [cpsig] CPR Early Dome Cars

While reading West of the Great Divide by Robert D. Turner I became very
interested in the early (first) dome cars built in 1902 as
pictured on page 42. I
would like to build one of these in HO scale. There seems to be
two types,
one with a covered roof with clerestory (top photo) and the other with a
partially open flat top roof.
There were a number of closed mountain observation cars. The car on page 42
was one of three closed mountain observation cars built in 1906 by CPR's
Angus Shops. Their history are as follows:

Before that there were 4 closed mountain cars built by Hochelaga shops.
Three were built in 1890/06 and one 1902/07. I don't know if these looked
like the ones above.
There were also a number of open observation cars numbered from 7900-7915
and 7985-7992. These were all rebuilt from various odds and sods (ie. 2nd
class, tourist, parlor, colonists).
As I recall there was a model of this produced 15-20 years ago
but I have not
been able to find one. If anyone has this kit or the directions
for the kit
and wants to sell/share them please contact me off-list.
The Westwood kits are still around. I recall seeing a couple in the last
year. Try calling hobby shops in the Southern Ontario area. Try George's
Trains in Toronto, Hutch's Trains in Burlington and Niagara Central Hobbies
in St. Catherines. These shops sell used stuff. I picked up a Westwood CP
Business car from George's Trains a few years ago.
Where could I find a site where information on these cars can be found?

observation car folios can be located by document numbers, 75-c-412,
